How We Run a Sunday, and Why · Resource 1 of 5

Start Here: What We Believe About Sunday

The convictions behind the Sunday

Meet people where they are and point them to Jesus.

Jesus is our message. We are Jesus people, not religious people. Methods will come and go, yet our message will remain the same.

From the parking lot to the pulpit, everyone serves. Every role is different but they are all important.

If it doesn't start with prayer it's flawed from the start.

Everything below hangs on those four.

The week before

What we do

  • The set list is done before Thursday.
  • The service hosts and the Team Rally speaker are picked by midweek, not on Sunday.
  • A guest speaker sends notes to the tech team when they are ready, and the team builds slides Sunday morning.

Who leads: staff for the plan, Team Leads for their rosters.

Why

We believe that balance in life isn't attainable. But healthy rhythms are.

In order to maintain health and sustainability, we encourage all teams and leaders to set healthy rhythms in their weeks so that they come into Sunday feeling rested and ready to serve.

What we learned

  • Brief the hosts ahead of time on the flow and each transition.
  • A short end-of-week check that every area has a named person prevents Sunday scrambling.
  • Tell people face to face what is happening next week. Don't rely on the app alone.
