Breakthrough: Vision Sunday 2020
Passage: Prayer for Spiritual Power
“14 For this reason I kneel before the Father 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. 16 I pray that he may grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power in your inner being through his Spirit, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, 19 and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” - Ephesians 2:14-20 CSB

- How it all started
- Moving our family of 6 out to Colorado by ourselves with a vision and the Holy Spirit. It was scary and so unknown but we put our yes on the table and moved. We moved to Boulder on June 5th, 2017. Three months after landing in Boulder we started gathering together as a church.

Story: Letter to PNWD Kids Team
- *“I have a confession to make- I have no idea how we ended up on your mailing list! But on a whim and because I was epically curious how a small church was going to handle this new season, I submitted my kiddos info in. Almost every day we've received something for one of the kids in the past few weeks and every time I keep thinking- who would do that? Who would be praying for kids they've never met- by name- over and over and over again? I've been a Christian and a part of the church for. ever. and I've never been so overwhelmed by people loving on my kids so well.”*

4 Pillars Of A Movement
-
Prayer & Fasting
- Weekly Prayer Gathering
- Prayer & Worship Nights
- Prayer and fasting positions and aligns ourselves to hear from God. We aren’t leading. A movement. God is. It’s our job to listen, learn, and follow His work.
- We fast & pray to connect with God, prepare for spiritual warfare, get direction from God.
-
Prayer and fasting is not something that we do but it’s a lifestyle that we live.

Previous Themes and Impact
Every year God has spoken a theme over our hearts for the church.
- 2018: Bigger than Us: year 1 was a year of growth and realization of what God was doing in Boulder, in the church, and in our hearts, was bigger than us. We celebrated our first anniversary of a church with a conference hosted in downtown Boulder at the Fox Theater.
-
2019: Make Room: after we launched the church in August of 2018 we felt such momentum. God was speaking over us to make room. Not to get comfortable or settled with the people around us, but to continue to reach out, invite more people, and to make room. As a result of that we saw God multiply us from 1 service to 2 services at the synagogue. We saw so much growth in our crews, church, and in our hearts.
-
2020: Build a Bridge: this past year we had no idea what 2020 would hold. God had spoken Build a Bridge over our hearts. We desired to build bridges with organizations in our city, churches, and more. This has been the most critical year for us to stick together, to say and believe we know we are not alone and we are going to journey together. This year alone we have been able to….
- 2021: Breakthrough: We are at a critical point in the life of our church. God has brought such a gifted and generous team around the mission here in Boulder. He has proven time and time again that HE is building HIS church in this city that we love. As we look to the future of Pinewood, we want to always believe for more. God kept putting the theme “Breaking Barriers” on my heart. How can we see church attendance barriers break, how can we see the barrier of revival break in our city, how can we see barriers break in our relationships. As my wife and I talked about this idea, the word “Breakthrough” came up. My wife said “breaking barriers” seems like something we can do in our effort, but “breakthrough” is a move of the Holy Spirit.

Launch Third Location
- Why?
-
We feel that God has called us to reach the city by multiplying churches and crews.
- Strategy
-
Our vision is to plant churches in central parts of the city over the next several years. We are looking at a few locations in Central Boulder.
- What is that going to look like?
- Purchase A Building
- Why?
-
Closing:
How to OWN the Vision.
- Pray First [ask God to give you vision for how you are to be a part, pray for the vision of your leaders, pray for our city, pray for our world]
- Show up Consistently [you gotta show up to grow up, be the first to show up and the last to leave, show up to Team nights, to Crews, to Church]
- Give Generously [above & beyond, 1% or 10% challenge]
- Sacrifice Willingly [anything of great reward always takes great sacrifice.]
- Invite Everyone [when you believe in something, you bring people with you]
